Applications for UK student visas fell 19%, to 352,500, in the year to September 2026 (UK Home Office).
The UK Home Office counted 352,500 applications for sponsored study visas (the visas international students need to study in the UK) from main applicants in the year to September 2026, 19% lower than in the year before. Applications from students’ family members fell 31%, to 15,700. The figures are provisional, cover applications made from outside the UK, and count applications, not visas granted. No visa rule changes with this release.
